Well, there is no such thing as normal number of masturbations for a given age. Men or women of any age masturbate strictly according to their need. People vary in their masturbatory frequency from once in a month or less to 3-4 times a day or more. If you are only concerned about the normalcy of your frequency this is the answer.
However, sine you experience erectile difficulties with the present frequency of masturbation, you may wish to reduce to reduce it, by adopting the 12-point guidelines provided by Alcoholics Anonymous.
Regarding the question of overmasturbation, it is difficult to define what is ‘excessive’ because, what is ‘over’ for one may be normal for another.
Since you think you are addicted to masturbation, there are some questions to be answered: Do you masturbate as a matter of habit than out of real need? Or do you masturbate in an effort to manage your anxiety? Do you spend inordinate amount of time for this activity thereby neglecting important social, occupational or recreational activities? Do you feel out of control? Do you experience severe mood changes in the absence of or after completion of masturbation? Are you unable to stop it in spite of its adverse impact on you?
Many such questions need to be answered. If some of these situations apply to you, I would encourage you to seek the help of a mental health professional, who can deal with problems of controlling unwanted behaviors and addictions. Meanwhile please read an article by Dr. Mitchell Tepper, PhD, MPH on overcoming Compulsive or Addictive Sexual behavior that appeared on the home page of this site.
That masturbation reduces brain’s liquids and hormones is a myth.
