Question:
please. i think i am serously screwed up. as a baby, i had a hernia that went down into my scrotum. the doctors said i would be ok. i have been masterbating-orgasaming ending up with only a tinny drop of semen or no ejaculation at all- since i was 13. near the begenning of 15, i have been geting more semen to come out. it is cristle clear and stickey. it reminds me of spit. it is very thick. sometimes, i get no ejaculation, other times i get a drop, and other times i get a good 1/4 tbl spoon. i feel really alone. i have found out that the longer i masturbate the more semen i get. i normally dont ejaculate though. i only orgasm. everyone says that my semen should be white and look/feel exactly like lotion, but mine is crystle clear and thinner than lotion. i do not have any hair under my arms. maby i have not fully developed yet? i am WAY too scared to tell anyone face to face about this, and am really embarased of it. i am too scared to see a doctor. please, i dont want to be screwed up. i want to be normal like everyone else. i am 15 and 1/2 now and i usually dont ejaculate. when i do i either get a drop to a 1/4 tbl spoon. am i too old to still be maturing? i really dont want to be a freak of nature. i am really scared. me being an only boy of the family, my parents are always nagging me and telling me i have to carry on the family name. please, i am really really scared. should i wait until i get hair under my arms to get conserned or should i be conserned now or what? i am terrified that i wont turn up like other boys. please help me. tell me that i am not a freak.......

Thanks for writing in and I can certainly understand your concern. Let me first say that you are NOT seriously screwed up. What you are describing in terms of what and how much you're ejaculating is not necessarily that unusual. The amount, color, and "stickiness" of semen varies to some degree among males; even within each of us at different times. Especially as a young man. Whether or not you masturbate regularly, you will produce more semen as you get older. In fact, if you masturbate regularly, it is quite common to see less ejaculate, particularly if your ejaculations are within 24 hours of each other. The fluid you ejaculate (whether with a lot of force or just a little dribble) is a combination of fluid from your seminal vesicles, prostate, Cowper's gland, and sperm from your vas deferens; add them all together and you have semen. Your body is still developing so it's not really suprising that you don't see a whole lot. You really don't have anything to worry about and there's no need to freak out about being a freak. Whether your previous hernia is actually related to this or not is more of a secondary issue. If it has any bearing at all, it may be more to do with sperm (not semen) production and the force of your ejaculation. Something else may be effecting your ejaculations as well, and this I'm more concerned about. I know you say that you're too embarassed to talk to a doctor but I think it would be very wise to find one you can trust and try to talk to him or her about this in relation to your medications. You seem to be taking a lot of medications that can significantly decrease your fluid production, not to mention counter-acting one another. You mention taking Ritalin, Methadate, and Concerta. I hope you don't take all of them because they are the same drug! They also require very close monitoring when taken along with Prozac. In addition, taking Prozac and Doxepin seems a bit excessive and there might be a better alternative, depending on the reason for using them. Add in the Claritin and you now have a bunch of medications that will increase your anxiety and tension, significantly raising your blood pressure. This may be why you're taking Clonidine. But Clonidine will also cause constipation, dry mouth, thirst, and general decrease in body fluid production (just like Claratin). It is highly likey that your anxiety, fear, and lack of ejaculation can be - at least to some degree - related to the interactions of your medications. Perhaps one of our MDs on site can comment on this. If you really can't bring yourself to talk to a doctor about what you're experiencing with your ejaculations, at least think of consulting with a doctor about re-evaluating your medications. Obviously, I can't comment on any condition you may have but the best way to feel better is to get as much information as you can and learn that there is a whole range of conditions and behaviors that are "normal." The most important thing to remember, though, is to not get freaked out about being different. Everybody develops and matures at different rates and whatever yours is is normal for you. I hope this has been of some help (if not comfort) to you. Do follow up and learn as much as you can about your body and sexual developoment. I wish you all the best. Take care and be well.
