Question:
In the last few months i have notices small skin -coloured bumps on my penis. These bumps do not stick out but they are noticable. One or two are sticking out, by that i mean i had to scrape them with my fingernail I would be able to feel them. I have heard that they are sweat glands but are not sure. They are also on my scrotum as well. Could masturbation have caused this? I am 15 years old. Please could you get me out of my misery Thanks

Thank you for submitting your question. Because I am not a medical doctor, I cannot tell you exactly what these raised bumps are. Sometimes these bumps are ingrown hairs or pimples, but not always. If you have had unprotected oral sex or other types of intercourse it is possible that these bumps may be some type of sexually transmitted infection. However, it is unlikely that you would get any of these infections from masturbation. But it is also important to make sure that your hands are clean before you masturbate. Have you used any type of cream that irritated the scrotum and penis? I suggest seeing your doctor and finding out what these bumps are. You are not alone; so don’t be nervous about talking to a person in the medical community. It is important to have this checked out so that you can stay healthy. I hope this information helps. Take care.
