Learn moreWhen's the best time to get tested?
Some STDs, like herpes, cannot be detected right away after exposure. If you've not had an STD test in a year and have had unsafe sex, doctors recommend getting tested today and again in 3 months for confirmation. Review our helpful Testing Window Guide to learn more.
Which lab will process my tests?
Your tests will be processed by LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics, the largest diagnostic labs in the United States. The tests we offer are FDA-approved and the "gold standard" for accuracy, specificity and sensitivity.
Visit a test center.
With more than 1,800 test centers nationwide, you can always get tested locally—often on the same day you order your test.
Learn moreWhat happens at the test center?
A phlebotomist will draw a blood sample and you'll give a urine sample. All centers have private clinic rooms. You will not get undressed. There will be no uncomfortable swabbing. People go to the test centers for a variety of reasons, so no one in the waiting area will know why you are there. For privacy, your test request form specifically states no Photo ID for anonymity purposes.
Can I get tested today?
Yes. When you order your tests, you'll be able to choose a local test center. In most cases, you can order and get tested on the very same day.
Do I need to make an appointment?
No, it's a quick walk-in visit. LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics test centers are designed for fast specimen draws. Most people drop in at their convenience and are on their way in 15 minutes.
Review your results.
In three days or less, you'll receive an email notification to sign into the secure message center to view your results privately and securely.
Learn moreHow quickly can I get my results?
We know that waiting is the hardest part. That's why your test results will be ready in 2 to 3 business days. The HIV Early Detection test may take a day or two longer to process. When your results are ready, you'll receive an email from "APG Services" instructing you to log in to your secure account.
How do you protect my health data?
Unlike other online testing services, we will never email your test results. Like financial institutions, all communications with you are handled in a secure, password-protected message center. Learn more.
Get treatment and medical care.
If you should test positive for an STD, you'll be able to consult with a doctor to help you understand your results and ask any questions you may have. If appropriate, our doctors can also arrange a prescription for treatment free of charge.
Learn moreWhich STDs do you treat?
If you test positive for chlamydia, gonorrhea or genital herpes, the doctor can electronically send a prescription to your local pharmacy for same-day pickup. If a patient tests positive for hepatitis, HIV or syphilis, we will coordinate a referral to a qualified physician in your area for follow up care. We will also electronically send your medical history and test results to the physician at no additional cost to you.
Can I get a prescription for a generic medication to save money?
Yes. We always prescribe generic medication to reduce the cost to you. Prices can vary, but expect to pay $10 to $17 for an antibiotic. Herpes treatment can cost anywhere from $12 for a 3-day supply to $60 - $215 for a monthly supply.
