Biography: Sandra R. Leiblum, Ph.D. is a Professor of Psychiatry and Obstetrics/Gynecology and Director of the Center for Sexual and Relationship Health at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Piscataway, NJ. She has edited or co-edited ten books, including the first three editions of Principles and Practice of Sex Therapy (Guilford, New York), Sexual Desire Disorders and Case Studies in Sex Therapy in addition to over 100 clinical and research articles. Her most recent popular book is entitled Getting the Sex You Want: A woman’s guide to becoming proud, passionate and pleased in bed. In recent years, Dr. Leiblum has been increasingly involved in research and consultation on female and male sexual function and dysfunction, menopause and sexual nosology. Dr. Leiblum was the first president of the International Society for the Scientific Study of Womens Sexual Health (ISSWSH), past president of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research and is a fellow of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex. She is the proud recipient of several awards and acknowledgements for her teaching and research contributions over the past thirty years, including the Masters and Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Sex Therapy and Research and the Professional Standard of Excellence Award from the American Society for Sex Education, Counseling and Therapy, among others.
