Happy LGBT Pride Month! Each year, June launches pride celebrations to raise awareness for lesbian, gay, bi, transgender, intersex, and queer communities throughout the country. Originated to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in NYC that sprung the Gay Liberation Movement, Pride Month is now celebrated nationally with parades, festivals, musical performances, proud to run 5Ks, awareness-building workshops and more.

From as far north as Bangor, ME to as far south as the Florida Keys, the eastern seaboard prides itself not only with simply being east coast, but by proudly flying the rainbow flag and celebrating local LGBT communities. Here is where you can find festivities in cities along the Atlantic:

Bangor, ME Pride Festival and Art Walk!
On June 26th 2013, local artists and vendors will have the opportunity to showcase their work in an art-friendly, gay-friendly community. A great way to connect with artists, curators, and professionals in the Greater Bangor Area and participate in a larger discourse about equality and contemporary art. The 3rd Annual Queen City Pride Parade will be held on Saturday Saturday, June 29th at 11 a.m. and begins at Railroad Street.

Boston Pride Week!
May 31st-June 9th
Ongoing celebrations throughout the week, including an LGBT Senior Pride Tea Dance, Pride Night at Fenway Park, and Boston Pride Youth Dance. The Pride Parade begins Saturday, June 8th at Noon in Copley Square.
